This week has been a busy one that is for sure. Not only have we done Music Memories sessions in different places we have also done a filming for the new This Is Me project. Thanks go to Kenny and John for what was a special time. The lady whose story they were filming has not spoken about anything else but Kenny and John since, according to her family.
Thanks also go to Natasha whose Facebook video of their afternoon session with John has been viewed 6,500 times which is amazing. I am happy to report that one of the views has led to a Come On Over To My Place booking. The booking is a birthday for a gentleman who will be 99 this year. These opportunities to share and tell the stories of people are just so precious.
Yesterday was a big day for Forget Me Notes as it was our Sing-a-thon. It was great to see so many people coming to join on Zoom and at the Festival Theatre. It was great to hear at the end of the day Paul’s Dad saying thank you for the day he said, “It was like a day spent with Family”. We have referred before to Forget Me Notes being a family so to hear someone else say this was an important endorsement of the impact we make.
We must get to an important bit and share with you how much money has been raised so far. We couldn’t quite manage the £45,000 000 raised by Children in Need but we have broken through the £2,000 mark once we include the tax. This is an amazing effort and sincere word of thanks from Paul and I to all those who supported us in any way at all.
The most encouraging thing about Forget Me Notes is the diversity of services we now offer. This diversity saw people with Dementia, Learning Disability, friends and family all joining in singing and dancing. I am happy to report that Paul soaking his fingers in vinegar did the trick. Amazing job Paul!
Hope you all have a great week!
